This is Why We Lied by Karin Slaughter

Karin Slaughter is one of my absolute favorites and every time I read a new Will Trent book, it reminds me why.  Intriguing high-octane storytelling with characters we love, love to hate and hope they get what’s coming to them.  In This is Why We Lied, Will and Sara have just gotten married and are off to a beautiful lodge for their honeymoon.  While there the manager is murdered and EVERYONE has a reason to want her dead.  Slaughter masterfully plays with the traditional locked-room mystery by starting at the time of the murder and then going backwards, switching perspectives in a way that never once made me go “Hey go back to the other person!”  You want to continue no matter what character’s point of view the chapter is from.  I started reading this book already adoring Will and Sara because of previous novels, but you can start with this one and still be okay.  It stands well on its own.  You’ll probably want to go back and read the others like I do.  I haven’t read all of them, but I intend to!
